We have a deep longing to become more Jesus-like

as individuals as well as communities.

We want to taste and smell the Kingdom of God.

We want to enflesh the Kingdom of God...

God is inviting us to the navigatio, the voyage...

As we sail with Jesus through the many seas

we will experience the promise of God,

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;

I have called you by name, you are mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;

when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,

and the flame shall not consume you.

For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One, your Savior."

Hospitality is a value written deeply in biblical experience and spirituality. Hospitality is the radical love that extends itself to strangers. Unless we make room in our minds for the Gospel, nothing can get through the barriers of our own fears and prejudices and the demon of protecting our privacy and space. The hospitality that the Gospel present does not require grand gestures, but open hearts. When I let a stranger into my heart, I let a new possibility approach me. When I reach past my own ideas, I begin to stretch myself open to the world, and this opening of my heart could change everything. People transform people.
